Events helpers

We need your help to assist with a range of events across North Wales.

Volunteers can help ensure events run smoothly and attendees enjoy themselves. You can help us to convey the NWWT’s message to a wide audience, especially families with children, and inspire people about wildlife.

You will meet a wide range of people and have the chance to work within a friendly, dedicated team of like-minded people. You will gain experience in organising events and activities and get a valuable insight into the work of this exciting conservation organisation in North Wales, together with the opportunity to travel to a variety of locations and take part in different shows.

You will have a desire to meet people of all ages and share your enthusiasm for nature and the environment. You will have an outgoing personality with good communication skills and enjoy hands-on activities e.g. badge making, mask making etc is useful for family events.

Ideally you will be able to travel across North West or North East Wales.

Appropriate training will be provided.

Bloggers Volunteers

We are looking for a pool of volunteers to keep our website vibrant and updated!

Maybe you live near one of our reserves, or maybe your interest is beetles or small mammals, or you just like the idea of reporting on our events.

How about writing a few words, adding a photo and show your work on our website?

This role should not take much of your time especially as it might involve something you are doing already, like walking the reserve or looking for moths! All training necessary will be provided.

Would suit someone who would like to learn some basic web-blogging skills.

Contractors Volunteer

We are looking for a volunteer to further develop our contractors list.

The role will initially consist in entering data form different sources onto our excel file and eventually develop an online form contractors themselves will complete.

The Volunteer will also follow up on H&S requirements for the contractors (make sure we have Insurance certificates for example) .

All on-the-job training will be provided.

Would suit someone who has got an eye for details and an interest to learn about basic web design, especially online forms.

e-Cartridge volunteers

We are looking for a volunteer to develop a newtork of collection points for local empty printer cartridges as a mean to fundraise for the North Wales Wildlife Trust.

Task will involved identifying local possible venues, agree with the location of collection box, arrange local volunteers to collect box and sort content and forward to recycler.

Would suit someone who has got an interest in recycling and would like to organise a new project right form the beginning!

Graphic Design Volunteer(s)

We are looking for one or two volunteers to help out with our design needs. Working primarily on our newsletter production three times a year and many calendars of events (for the newsletter as well as for themed weeks).

We also would like to update the look of some of our publications such as the Annual Review, Cemlyn Volunteers leaflet etc.

You will mostly work with QuarkXpress software.

This opportunity offers a great chance for anyone interested in graphic design work in the future to gain relevant work experience.

Location: Bangor office.

Wild-MEDIA Volunteer officer placement

The volunteer position of Wild-Media officer is a six month to a one year work experience VOLUNTARY placement.

The role of Wild-Media volunteer officer (VO) requires close co-operation with all members of the Trust’s team and involves liaison with volunteers and the organisation and leading of volunteer activities.

Amongst other things, the Wild-Media VO will be working directly on:
• promotion of regular volunteer tasks
• assisting with the updating the NWWT website: research and preparation of copy for current pages such as volunteer tasks and local branches events
• development and maintenance of the Breathing Places campaign
• organising and managing the digital image library, including editing current content, reviewing photographs for inclusion and ensuring proper use by staff and volunteers.

Wild-WATCH Volunteer Officer Placement

The volunteer position of Wild-WATCH Volunteer Officer is a six month to a one year work experience placement, either full-time or part-time.


The role of Wild-WATCH Volunteer Officer (VO) requires close co-operation with all members of the Trust’s team and involves liaison with volunteers and the organisation and leading of volunteer activities. Work may also include practical conservation, leading walks and tours, helping with the running of the Trust shops and assisting with the Trust activities promotion.

In particular the Wild-WATCH VO will be volunteering directly on:-
· assisting with the delivery of the Wildlife WATCH programme within the North Wales area
· assisting with the updating the WATCH pages on the NWWT website: research and preparation of copy for current pages such as training dates and local Watch groups events
· monitoring of volunteers leaders involvement including organising and assisting with delivery of training sessions
· co-ordinate our local WATCH related media presence
· assist local WATCH groups with the organisation and promotion of their events programmes
· researching and managing reciprocal links between WATCH webpages and external sites.
· other ad-hoc tasks as required

Cemlyn Volunteer Wardens

If you were inspired by the Cemlyn feature on this year’s Spring Watch programme (still available in BBC iplayer; find it here but be quick! sorry if it has expired by time you read this) perhaps you can spare a few hours to help deal with the extra visitors!

Web Designer Volunteer

We are looking for a volunteer interested in web design who can update the website volunteering pages. We have now recieved the translations to the English pages and would like to update the website to be bilingual.

This is a short volunteering opportunity and will need to be taking places at the Bangor or Loggerheads NWWT office. You won't need any particular skills except for an ability to type Welsh (this will be proof-read by the translator afterwards!) and an interest in basic web design.

Volunteering Opportunities admin volunteer

Want to learn the basics of admin and bring the Wildlife Trust volunteering opportunities to a wider audience? We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to help out in the Bangor office one afternoon a week. Window Dresser Volunteer

We are looking for a keen volunteer to help us to keep one of the Bangor office windows attractive and eye catching! We have a plan to change the display on a bimonthly basis, we just need someone who is interested in making it happen. Some of the current themes include: birds in the garden, marine week, volunteering and Wildlife Watch.

It would suit someone who would like to volunteer a few days every 2 months, would like to be doing something physical and is artistic and/or imaginative. There are plenty of resources available at the Bangor office.

Trading Co. Sales Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to join the NWWT Trading team and assist with sales of goods in out two shops at Breakwater Country Park, nr Holyhead and on the Great Orme, nr. Llandudno. You need to be an organised person who likes to communicate and meet people, be happy to be on you feet for a while and have a flair for selling!
